Taping can offer short-term support and feedback while you are working on something else. It is a supportive technique, not a treatment plan in itself.
Taping is a possible supportive technique. The rehabilitation work is what carries your progress.
Taping is considered as a possible short-term addition to active rehabilitation. The useful question is which task it is intended to support and whether it makes that task easier for you. It does not replace understanding the problem or working on movement and strength.
Tell the clinician about sensitive skin or previous reactions to adhesives. Ask how long the tape should stay on, how to remove it and what skin changes should prompt removal or advice. Wear clothing that lets the relevant area be accessed comfortably.
Discuss what changed with the tape during the activity it was intended to support. If it is not adding anything, the plan can focus on the rehabilitation work instead. You can view sports-taping training alongside the physiotherapists’ qualifications on our team page.
